I have been following tennis quite much, not football. However, news came out early last week regarding the much sudden takeover by Sulaiman al-Fahim, a 31-year old very influential Arab businessman, of the Manchester City in a 150-million British Pound deal — it’s just pretty catchy and too hot a deal to ignore! The charismatic Man City new owner calls it ‘a massive achievement.’ Wow, it surely is considering the fact that such a tremendously huge amount is involved. It’s supposed to be a done deal by now as rumor has it and that the former owner, Thailand’s former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, is reported to be in a clean sweep of approximately 70 million BP in profits only a year after he bought the club. But the deal is no big deal for the young Arab business tycoon al-Fahim, CEO of Hydra Properties-Abu Dhabi, who very willingly took over the British Premier League football club. If money talks, it’s a big talk! So now, a very influential Arab business tycoon is British Premier League football club Manchester City’s new owner. Is it a done deal? I wonder.
