Bloggers have been creating a big fuzz about the way Google ranks blogs and other sites. Google’s algorithm (in PageRank) is just too sophisticated that no one really knows how and why their sites’ PR of 5 or 6 went down to as low as 0. Reading bloggers messages in the forum and discussion boards, everyone is just so frustrated. I can very well understand their sentiments that after doing all the hard work—that is what they got. PPP also has its own ranking system (the RealRank) and I heard that a new one called SocialSpark will soon be launched in the hopes of providing more comfort and help for the affected PPP bloggers. They claimed that these will give actual ranks to blogs according to traffic and others.
I’ve got nothing against about site rankings—at least for now—as my sites are too new. Currently, I’ve got PR0 and a weekly RealRank average of 3,589 (RealRank of 3,061 as of today) for my ideasbeyondborders.com site. But checking its future PageRank via iWebtool.com, they’ve predicted a PR5 for this site in Google’s next round of updates, which is I guess this month of March. Now, I have a mixed feelings—nervous, worried, and excited. Nervous that I don’t know what I’d really get, Worried that I might end up a PR0 still, and excited to see my predicted PR5 actually showing. Well, it all depends on how important Google sees my site.
I have a great idea! To console myself and make me feel relieved, I’ve designed my own algorithm in ranking sites. It’s pretty simple, fair, and straight-forward. JJSiteRank ranks any web site according to traffic and their popularity—no any hidden agenda. Well, I tried it with my own sites and it works pretty well…hehe. At least it can make me smile and giggle uncontrollably. It’s not yet launched into the open, it’s a personal ranking system only, but if you want to have your site ranked real-time with nice results, just let me know.
With this new invention, at least I don’t need to worry how much I would get from Google for my PageRank, from PPP for my RealRank and SocialSpark, etc. I can completely deceive myself by using JJSiteRank to rank my own web sites instead. Hehe. Poor me!
However, I just wonder if getting a JJSiteRank of 5 or 8 will entitle me to some nice $$$ figures in campaigns and ad opportunities. Maybe you will need to vote for me to earn that!
