Ovarian Cancer — Ultrasound, CA-125 blood test and pelvic exam — This disease will usually show only subtle, often-missed signs such as bloating, weight gain, back pain, and fatigue before it progresses to a certain stage that’s mostly fatal. When detected early, the 5-yr survival rate is 95%.

Heart Disease — Blood panel — Cardiovascular disease remains the no. 1 killer in the U.S. and even patients with normal cholesterol levels have heart attacks.

Drug Sensitivity — Genetic blood test — Nearly half of all drugs which include some painkillers and antidepressants are processed by gene-regulated enzymes called CYP450. Millions of people have mutations that allow drugs to build up to toxic levels or render them ineffective.

Lung Cancer — Spiral computed tomography (CT) scan — Lung cancer kills more people than colon, breast and prostate cancers combined. It’s rarely diagnosed early, so only about 15% of patients survive more than 5 yrs.

Aneurysm — Abdominal ultrasound — Aortic aneurysms develop undetected over many years and 80% of ruptures are fatal. Treatment prevents rupture in 98% of cases.
