Delicious Pork Stew From Our Birthday Lechon

Last Sunday was a big feast day! Three tennis buddies of mine joined hands in celebrating their birth anniversaries in one chosen day. Mass was celebrated in the morning by Fr. Maeir then followed by a big food and drinks party. A huge roasted pig was the main attraction right in the middle of the table and it was as fast as lightning when the eating began. The whole piece of lechong baboy (roasted pig) was attacked and vanished quickly like a bubble. But I was fast! Hehe…I managed to grab some meat and kept it aside for my pork stew specialty the next evening.

Yesterday was an all-shopping day for my pork stew ingredients. It turned out to be quite a big preparation for my quarter of a kilogram lechon meat take home treat because you can’t buy ingredients in retail or in small pieces. I bought everything that could cook 100 pork stews. Oh, what to do! Anyways, I will try my first-time unproven cooking skills with my pork stew tonight. It’s never too late to learn but no matter what, I guess my dish would turn out to be really tasty. Please don’t discount the ingredients that I have. They are of high quality and even without experience, they could certainly make my pork stew dish a mouthwatering one. I’m really looking forward to it. I’m hungry now…you’ve got to taste my delicious pork stew specialty, too! You’ll keep looking for it once you’ve tried it! Hmmm…yummy!

Depressed or Simply Tired?

I guess it is entirely difficult to identify or tell a person whether he or she is depressed or just merely tired. This I wonder all the time because some people would comment about some others being too boring and dull for not joining group discussions nor outings. And worse yet, they would say that those people are loners and depressed. Or are they? I don’t think so. A person may not enjoy going out with friends for some reasons but that doesn’t mean that they are depressed. Some people still enjoy gathering up together with other friends and go out to have some fun together — yeah, I think that’s really fun to hear but if you don’t feel comfortable with the crowd or if you feel you have some other more important things to do, I think that’s to be excused. We can’t force someone to enjoy what we like — and I respect that because even I get invited sometimes for bowling, I’d always say no. I just don’t fit in there, I don’t find bowling fun (sorry for that! hehe!), so I can’t go especially if the next day is a working day. I guess I’m tired of group outings after working hours as I already had too much of parties and nightlife before that I find any of these less exciting now. I’m not anymore thrilled to go out for a nightlife (disco, dinner out with friends, karaoke, etc.). Sign of getting old? Hehe, maybe! One more thing, I hate the smoke! When people smoke, it spoils the whole thing.

I pity one friend who’s always been mistaken to be a loner or a depressed person for not going out with friends. Signs of depression actually include anxiety, fatigue, lacking sleep, and loss of interest in things and loved ones. These feelings could stop someone from enjoying life. I’d like to explain that this person is not depressed. If he is depressed, he might be crying all the time, anxious about anything, irritable, and difficult to deal with. There would be a chemical imbalance in his system. He may only be in a different state now where he doesn’t find some things fun and exciting anymore. Or he simply does not like what others like, or he could be simply tired and needs to just go home and take rest. It would be more compelling to suggest that a person’s choice for privacy should be respected.
