Christmas is fast approaching and so my siblings are in a shocking rush booking their tickets to their holiday destinations. One wants to go to Sentosa Island, Singapore then to Kuala Lumpur to celebrate Christmas and the New Year’s. Another one wants to go to Hong Kong Disneyland and another to Seoul, Korea to see her favorite “Boys Over Flowers” stars. But wait! They haven’t yet really considered their length of stay in each place and it would be a great chance if they could book in advance at any one of the Accor Hotels since they’re having a 3-Day Super Sale anywhere in the Asia Pacific. Would you believe Accor Hotels 3-Day Super Sale Asia Pacific is now up and open for every enthusiastic holiday traveler? I bet you would have a great time in one of the one million hotel rooms they are offering at an amazing rate across Asia Pacific!

Travelers like my siblings (and maybe myself, too! hehe…) will surely be able to take advantage of savings when they book on-line between 27 - 30 October 2009. Now, you better hurry guys before the offer expires. Imagine, there’ll be over a million room nights that will be on sale with rates starting as low as US$30 per night? That’s incredible! Well, this will be one good reason to take another holiday trip anytime during the yuletide season because the stay period is from Dec 2009 till Apr 2010 yet. If my Sydney trip pushes through, it’s going to be a really fantastic one with some savings still in my pocket if I book now at any Accor Hotels.

Seeing how people suffered from the devastating floods that super storm Ondoy has brought to the Philippines’ Metro Manila area really breaks my heart. Ondoy is so far the worst storm that ever hit the Philippines that bad and hard, and caused heavy flooding in most of the metropolis.

In Rangoon City, everyday is a rainy day — sometimes heavy and scattered, if not it is always cloudy. I like this season anyway because the whole environment is cool, fresh and there’s a sea of green vegetation all around. After the termination of the cruel summer days, the plants are regenerated and canopies of branches come alive and become more vigorous. The grasslands are rejuvenated and produce more new offsprings. Likewise, all kinds of rhizomes, bulbs and ferns stick the buds out from the wet ground and begin to bloom profusely again everywhere. It’s like a colorful Garden of Eden, in my mind.

On the other hand, some unnecessary nuisances are found. These are floods and muddy streets of the city due to the poor sewage system and indiscriminate disposal of plastic bags leading to the blockage of sewers and drains. Nowadays, summer is hotter and longer while cold season is shorter and warmer. And also in this season, there are more heavy torrential rains with occasional tropical storms than before. Despite the excessive downpours, the vital agricultural produce-yielding provinces of central Burma have no trace of rain till now and the farmers encounter difficulties of cultivating peanut and sesame — these are the money-earning exports of the country. To overcome the draught, farmers of those regions are busy conducting all kinds of possible traditional rituals including tug-of-war contests intended to call for rain.

This is a very simple and ordinary example of a regional crisis. I presume that for the entire world, incredible, unthinkable, unexpected, powerful, and destructive disasters will come; namely Tsunami or more earthquakes or deadly storms or El Niño/La Niña cycles. These can afflict two-thirds of the globe with draughts, floods and other extreme weather conditions. I believe that these evil consequences are due to the greedy deeds of human, such as deforestation, emission of carbon dioxide gas, negligence of green house effect, and misuse of industrial development as well. For the sake of upcoming generations of our own, we have better conserve the Nature and rescue the planet Earth where we are dwelling in now. For tomorrow may be too late. It’s now or never, we must all help to save. (Thanks, Mr. Hank Kyaw Sunn, for sharing nice thoughts about nature conservation. Cheers!)

Some say that this is Indonesia’s national flower — it’s yet to be confirmed — but this flower is very common and mostly thrives in the tropical Southeast Asia. They call it “Dala” in Thai. Browsing the web gives me a hint that this could be one kind of the many different species of ginger flowers. Okay, this could be a “Torch Ginger Flower” or a “Torch Lily” then! The sight of this very lovely thing just makes me feel a little subservient…to anything (giggles)!

Honestly said, it was the very scent of Drakkar that really got her carried away on their first date while in college. The air was all sweet and fragrant that she couldn’t help but hug and smell him for some 5-10 minutes! He was so surprised — she didn’t even care, she remembers! Amazingly enough, another very dear friend of hers some years back also wore exactly the same perfume. From then on, she became an avid fan of its seductive fragrance that one time she had to acquire one for personal use. Meanwhile, Demeter spray scents also give us some uniquely beautiful scents of freedom and love. Since Drakkar scents belong to my friend’s sweet and hardly-forgotten memories of the past, I believe that these newly-discovered spray scents also occupy a very special place in her heart. Demeter scents also have that ability to capture the hearts of many young men and women at large. My friend, ‘though past memories will linger on but the present offers a more exciting challenge.

I value my family the most over anything else for the simple reason that it is my life, my home. It is where I draw strength in my daily struggle, an inspiration to keep on striving and it is my responsibility to provide for a better, if not the best, living. I share every little thing of happiness, fulfillment and merit with my family because it is in them that I find comfort when I needed. They are the sole witness of all my joys and to every teardrop that fell. Every moment that I spend with my family is so precious and never a waste of time. It bonds us together even closer.

It is important that we show how much we care for our loved ones while we still have the opportunity to do so. There is no greater achievement in this life than a truly happy family. We can choose our friends, or find a good job anywhere at anytime, but we can neither find nor replace a family once it is lost. Even the lost and the orphaned longs to find his family until the last moment of his life. Because no matter how long and far our journey is, it is our home that we return to in the end. Good or bad that we may be bringing, our family patiently waits and never ceases to care. I am more than grateful I have one…

I have been drinking hot tea every night before I go to bed for about 5 years now. It has become my habit to take at least a cup daily except only when I am pregnant. My ob-gyne advised me not to have it when I am expectant because, though it does not have adverse effects, it could somehow affect calcium build up for me and my baby. So, I have to wait until I give birth. Few months after I started drinking tea, my friends and officemates noticed that my complexion became fairer. I also noticed a slight change. I move regularly, my hair and nails grow faster and stronger, and, I do not get common infections like colds easily. I just do not know if my drinking of hot tea has something to do with these changes.

Aside from its being an anti-oxidant, latest medical researchers say that tea consumption helps prevent a wide range of ailments. Among these are arthritis, cancer, flu, heart disease, high blood pressure, Parkinson’s disease and oral health. Black and green tea extracts help inhibit the growth of cancer cells and reduce the risk of high blood pressure. Black tea further boosts our immune system against influenza. According to the study, tea is a rich source of the flavonoids quercetin, kaempferol, and myricetin, and research shows that high dietary intake of these compounds is associated with a reduced risk of fatal heart attacks. Tea consumption may be protective against developing debilitating neurological disorder. And lastly, rinsing with tea may prevent cavities and gum disease.

So, what are you waiting for? Start the habit now and stay away from the doctor!

“I would like to share with you a little information on what I have researched regarding coffee production. Being a certified coffee lover (I can’t live without it…hehe), I have every interest to learn significant information on how it is produced and become available in the market beyond just savoring its richness and aroma.

Varieties of coffee are robusta, arabica, excelsa and liberica. This crop requires rich soil, a well-distributed rainfall throughout the year and sufficient sunlight. Coffee may be propagated from seedlings or through asexual propagation. It is important to select the seeds of high-yielding trees in order to have the best yields. Asexual propagation is through the use of clones where part of the coffee plant is made to produce an offspring with exact qualities of the parent plant. This type of propagation offers a quicker return on investment. After a seedling is produced, it is now ready for transplanting, then, flowering occurs three to four years after. During this stage, proper care of the coffee tree is required. This includes fertilization, pruning before flowering and after harvest to provide better aeration and light penetration. To protect the crop, it is necessary to apply pest and disease control. At the time the coffee cherries are bright red, glossy and firm, it is now ready for harvest. Usually, this is done during the dry season.

Harvesting can be done in various ways: by handpicking, stripping or the use of a harvesting machine. However, individually handpicking is recommended to obtain the best coffee beans. The next step is pulping. In this stage, the green is separated from the ripe cherries with the use of the pulping machine. Then the pulped cherries are femented for 16 to 36 hours to remove mucilage before drying. Sundrying is essential to attain good coffee quality which is usually done in large patios. Dried parchment coffee has now an attractive golden yellow color which is known as the pergamino coffee. It will now be sorted by its color and density and graded according to the standards of a quality coffee.

This is how the best coffee beans are being produced. Simple as it may seem, yet, only a few knows about it. Hope you find it informative and useful. Enjoy!”

It was disheartening to know that several people really perished to the A-H1N1 virus that hit many countries recently on a large scale. Although the fatality rate is much lower than that of SARS and Bird Flu, the thought of contracting the deadly virus still scares everyone bringing people to some unnecessary panicking state at times. My Hong Kong trip was even canceled due to the swine flue scare. However, exercising extreme care and observing good hygiene will help protect us from acquiring it. It is rather a good time to reconsider my trip to Hong Kong especially that there is now an ongoing Accor Hotels City Super Sale. Staying at Hotel Ibis North Point is not at all a bad idea considering its location and price. Early birds could even get a room for as low as US$25 a night.

It’s good to get a hotel booking confirmation before leaving for your destination to ensure a smooth and hassle-free travel. I would suggest that you check out the Accor Hotels’ City Super Sale first so that you can be best guaranteed that you will get the best value of your money while enjoying your vacation travels to the fullest. This offer is available for 27 cities including Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Hanoi, Manila, Mumbai, Sydney, and Aukland but only for a limited time. So, you better catch it before it’s gone. Booking online during June 23-29 ‘09 will save you up to 60% for applicable stays between July 10 ‘09 and Sept. 30 ‘09. Why pay more for the same accommodation and luxury? Not me! This Accor ‘City Super Sale’ will allow me to enjoy an exciting vacation at bargain rates.

Whew! What’s going to happen next? Prices of basic commodities are rising so fast almost in a regular daily basis. The last time I bought a sack of rice, it was only Php24/kg or Php1,200/sack, about a month or two ago. Now, it’s Php53/kg or Php2,650/sack. Imagine how rapid the price increases? Approximately, 120% increase in just 2 months? How about in the next 3, 4, 5 months?

Good for me that I work at a government bank where I receive 1 sack of rice every month (thanks to my employer). Though it isn’t enough to feed my big family, I only get to buy a few more kilos until the next rice allowance. But what about those who do not have stable jobs? Those who do not earn enough to meet their daily needs? This would only mean that their chances of survival is getting smaller. Life then would be impossible and chaos will soon reign! Frightening isn’t it?

Could this be a start of another civil war?
Consider that as a wild imagination but it is reality. It is not impossible to happen in this alarming situation because many people are greatly suffering while only a few are benefiting. The rich are becoming richer while the poor, much much poorer. In spite of this crisis, let us not lose hope for a brighter tomorrow. Let’s keep our faith in our Creator, after all, His will be done…

You can’t be too sure unless you have done quite a comprehensive research or personally tried it yourself. A few of the many ways could be advertising products and services of some organizations or individuals, buying and selling of products, stocks or forex trading, and even blogging. Some people even tried to perform as the general hub or interface to and for others for a certain fee while some others may just simply act as the ones who recommend or connect buyers to sellers and/or introduce new employees to employers. There are just myriads of ways to earn money online. Well, it is impossible to be everyone in one setup and that is why this “ShoeMoney Xtreme 12 week course to make money online” has been offered to help people make the right decision. It is actually a massive crash course in the world of making money online which is an absolutely 100% FREE 12 week course that covers every possible topic about internet marketing.

There is no cost to join this program — all you have to do is just to sign up and get started! Sure enough, those who did join in this 12-week free course have learned how to become more effective internet marketers. ShoeMoney Xtreme is something that guides us straight to the point! I understand now that it is really not necessary to get yourself your own website to start an online business. No, not necessarily! Yet, it’s a plus if you got one. I understand that every kind of business truly requires a different approach from the others in order to survive in the market and internet marketing could help businesses a lot in terms of reach as well as penetration of information into the intended market in a cost-effective way.

One of the best travel destinations in Asia — the beautiful and peaceful Siquijor. Experience a fun-filled adventure inside this truly awesome and magnificently beautiful Cantabon Cave in the island of Siquijor. Local tourists and residents alike take great pride in showing off to the whole wide world the extraordinary beauty and wonder of nature of this unexplored natural treasure. Siquijor also boasts of many other tourists’ attractions which include a century-old St. Francis of Asisi Church (the oldest Spanish-built church in Siquijor which was constructed in 1783), natural spring and waterfalls, pristine white sand beaches, and many more.

Really proud to say, “I was there!”. Yes, I’ve been there! My family and relatives explored this amazingly beautiful cave for the first time on Apr. 13 ‘09 — walking, climbing, crawling, sliding, swimming, and running combined. The entire fun-filled adventure lasted for about three very short hours. And you know what? I’m looking forward to my second visit there — that’s going to be in a day or two…wanna join the fun? So, see you there!
