Reading in, I guess you will have a mixture of reactions. Here’s sharing with you a clipping from a friend. Some may find it funny, for some, may be ironic ;).
From a book called Disorder in the American Courts, these are some things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and now published by court reporters who had the torment of staying calm while these exchanges were actually taking place.
ATTORNEY: Are you s—–ly active?
WITNESS: No, I just lie there.
——————
ATTORNEY: What gear were you in at the moment of the impact?
WITNESS: Gucci sweats and Reeboks.
——————
ATTORNEY: This myasthenia gravis, does it affect your memory at all?
WITNESS: Yes.
ATTORNEY: And in what ways does it affect your memory?
WITNESS: I forget.
ATTORNEY: You forget? Can you give us an example of something you forgot?
——————
ATTORNEY: What was the first thing your husband said to you that morning?
WITNESS: He said, “Where am I, Cathy?”
ATTORNEY: And why did that upset you?
WITNESS: My name is Susan!
——————
ATTORNEY: Do you know if your daughter has ever been involved in voodoo?
WITNESS: We both do.
ATTORNEY: Voodoo?
WITNESS: We do.
ATTORNEY: You do?
WITNESS: Yes, voodoo.
——————
ATTORNEY: Now doctor, isn’t it true that when a person dies in his sleep, he doesn’t know about it until the next morning?
WITNESS: Did you actually pass the bar exam?
——————
ATTORNEY: The youngest son, the twenty-one-year-old, how old is he?
WITNESS: Uh, he’s twenty-one.
——————
ATTORNEY: Were you present when your picture was taken?
WITNESS: Are you sh-ttin’ me?
——————
ATTORNEY: She had three children, right?
WITNESS: Yes.
ATTORNEY: How many were boys?
WITNESS: None.
ATTORNEY: Were there any girls?
WITNESS: Are you sh-ttin’ me? Your Honor, I think I need a different attorney. Can I get a new attorney?
——————
ATTORNEY: How was your first marriage terminated?
WITNESS: By death.
ATTORNEY: And by whose death was it terminated?
WITNESS: Now whose death do you suppose terminated it?
——————
ATTORNEY: Can you describe the individual?
WITNESS: He was about medium height and had a beard.
ATTORNEY: Was this a male or a female?
WITNESS: Guess.
——————
ATTORNEY: Is your appearance here this morning pursuant to a deposition notice which I sent to your attorney?
WITNESS: No, this is how I dress when I go to work.
——————
ATTORNEY: Doctor, how many of your autopsies have you performed on dead people?
WITNESS: All my autopsies are performed on dead people. Would you like to rephrase that?
——————
ATTORNEY: ALL your responses MUST be oral, OK? What school did you go to?
WITNESS: Oral.
——————
ATTORNEY: Do you recall the time that you examined the body?
WITNESS: The autopsy started around 8:30 p.m.
ATTORNEY: And Mr. Denton was dead at the time?
WITNESS: No, he was sitting on the table wondering why I was doing an autopsy on him!
——————
ATTORNEY: Are you qualified to give a urine sample?
WITNESS: Huh…are you qualified to ask that question?
——————
And the best for last:
ATTORNEY: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for blood pressure?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for breathing?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: How can you be so sure, Doctor?
WITNESS: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.
ATTORNEY: I see, but could the patient have still been alive, nevertheless?
WITNESS: Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law.

It’s been five months since I started my blog sites, ideasbeyondborders.com and theglobalinterface.com, on my own. I find having the sites and maintaining them really fun, entertaining, and educational as I get to learn lots of things along the way. This time, I find them too old to bear the same features, colours, and formats and wanted some revisions or new look and feel. How do I do them without much experience in web building and design? I’m a little scared to do revisions and add new applications though.
I went to the net to check on tidbits of information that might help and got into stylishdesign.com and find design aspects really amusing. The site looks simple but compact housing several links to important information you may be looking for. Stylishdesign.com is of course a design blog site that mainly talks about web designing and other web-related stuffs, site architecture and design. Oh, the site also provides information about seo, software, as well as web directories that would help us in our all of our www ventures. If I must change something into my sites, I think I now have the idea on how to slowly modify them after surfing this design blog site I am talking about.
I’m pretty sure that they would be able to assist me in my design needs. My sites will then have a better look and feel after this experiment — and all informational tools — courtesy of stylishdesign.com. Visitors would find them soon more appealing ;).

There are quite a number of historical and beautiful tourist attractions in Asia that I haven’t yet been to. If I were to choose, I would first go to explore Seoul, Korea, then to Japan to visit the ancient shrines and conquer the very famous Mt. Fuji. The Philippines also has a lot of beautiful attractions that keep alluring tourists alike. Asia actually houses myriads of both popular and undiscovered sights and scenes. It is very fascinating to see historical remains of the past in some corners of Asia and also to see modern creations of the human mind. These would include the spectacular skyscrapers and the magnificent architecture of hundreds of commercial and residential buildings, roads, and bridges. Seeing these things would always trigger the desire inside me to check on my engineering instincts once again. That’s only in Asia — trips to the west for the more spectacular high rise creations will come next.
I have just been traveling lately and funds seem to have already been almost depleted. To continue on my passion for tours and sightsee some beautiful attractions of our neighbors, I am pretty sure that funds from my personal loans would help me to get there. I just love to travel and enjoy the nature’s beauty as well as the culture of each nation I visit. It’s a little strange to be in a different place but you’ll get to learn so many things by traveling to different places with different cultures, too. So, once granted with my fast and easy personal loan, I’ll soon hit the road again!

Tonsillitis is defined by Wikipedia as an infection of the tonsils and will often cause a sore throat and fever. Yes, I was sick and had tonsillitis while half-way through to my vacation. I first accused the afternoon mosquitoes for causing my sudden sickness and high fever as several of them bit me during my regular internet sessions at a nearby internet cafe.
Acute, subacute and chronic are the 3 main types of tonsillitis — acute tonsillitis can either be bacterial or viral (75%) in origin, subacute tonsillitis (which can last between 3 weeks and 3 months) is caused by the bacterium Actinomyces, and chronic tonsillitis, which can last for long periods if not treated, is almost always bacterial.
Treatments of tonsillitis consist of pain management medications and lozenges. If the tonsillitis is caused by bacteria, then antibiotics are prescribed, with penicillin being most commonly used. Erythromycin is used for patients allergic to penicillin.

December 2008 will again be a grand homecoming for all of us as it will be another great family reunion to be reckoned with. Sis’ family will be leaving U.S. soon to settle in Asia and is now busily selling and disposing of their properties to make a timely pre-Christmas departure. While many people are moving out to settle in another land, many others would also like to venture and try their luck or start a new life in the states. But where to stay? Accommodation or home will be the first issue. They may first check out Austin TX real estate as I’ve seen a number of beautifully built homes there. The bonus is that the Goldwasser Real Estate’s managing team has been named the #1 residential real estate team in Austin by the Austin Business Journal. So, to meet their highly qualified real estate experts and also to get the best home deals, visit goldwasserrealestate.com. By the way, do you want to know your home’s worth? Click here to find out.

When explaining stress management to an audience, a lecturer raised a glass of water and asked, “How heavy is this glass of water?” Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g. The lecturer replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it.
If I hold it for a minute, that’s not a problem.
If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my right arm.
If I hold it for a day, you’ll have to call an ambulance.
In each case, it’s the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.” He continued, “And that’s the way it is with stress management.
If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won’t be able to carry on. ” “As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we’re refreshed, we can carry on with the burden.” “So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down
Don’t carry it home; You can pick it up tomorrow. Whatever burdens you’re carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can.” So, put down anything that may be a burden to you right now. Don’t pick it up again until after you’ve rested a while.
Here are some great ways of dealing with the burdens of life:
* Accept that some days you’re the pigeon, and some days you’re the statue.
* Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.
* Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.
* Drive carefully. It’s not only cars that can be recalled by their maker.
* If you can’t be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.
* If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
* It may be that your sole purpose in life is to simply be kind to others.
* Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won’t have a leg to stand on.
* Nobody cares if you can’t dance well. Just get up and dance.
* Since it’s the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.
* The second mouse gets the cheese.
* When everything’s coming your way, you’re in the wrong lane.
* Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.
* You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.
* Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
* We could learn a lot from crayons… Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull.
Some have weird names, and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.
*A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

My sis’ family just recently came back from a long weekend trip from Nevada to Sacramento, California and back to Nevada. The whole family went to spend quality times visiting a number of national parks and magnificent entertainment hubs for their love child, Dawn, along the way. I like their idea of spending weekends outside the home and enjoying some exciting activities like camping, mountain climbing, biking, mountain trekking, etc. Such is a fun and very healthy lifestyle for me. This time, they shouldn’t miss a very exciting event that’s going to happen in their hometown soon. The National Finals Rodeo (NFR), or most popularly known as the “super bowl of rodeo” and the World Series of Rodeo, is held each year in the first full week of December at the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) in Las Vegas, Nevada.
I suggest that sis should immediately grab NFR Tickets for themselves as early as now because I believe that the tickets will be sold out very fast. The NFR is the premier championship rodeo event in the United States with Wrangler Jeans as the title sponsor for the 10-day event. This may be their first time to watch the event together as a family and it will be a whole lot of fun for sis and family again since her hubby is so much into action events. He wouldn’t miss a single event that he really likes such as boxing, wrestling, racing, and of course, rodeo.
The NFR was established since 1958 and is actually a championship event that is held annually by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and the very first NFR was held in Dallas in 1959.

My grandpa was a very humble and simple man. He loved politics and do fishing for food for the family. He was considered a poor man and with a very humble heart. Knowing all his stories during my recent vacation, I went instantly ecstatic and really amazed of how talented grandpa was. Five years back, he was diagnosed with a terminal-stage cancer and could not eat food or drink any liquids for 8 long months. Although already bedridden for 8 straight months, still he managed to sing 1 full song for me when I went home to visit him that time. I was teary-eyed and very emotional at that time seeing him in that condition but still tried to show a happy face and sang along with him. I also learned after he passed away some of his humble deeds in utter disbelief. Super!
Only a fisherman, yet, grandpa owned a few hectares of land in the island and some were sold out to others at a very friendly price — too low you couldn’t believe — I really couldn’t believe. He almost gave away all of his land to other wealthy people. He even gave half a hectare of land to his poor friend. I’m shocked to know when everyone else in the family cries for getting their fair shares while he was alive. Dad told me that grandpa’s principle was not to sell things at a high price, else, they wouldn’t get sold. Sell cheap and get money fast! That’s what he wanted. I’m a just little lucky this time to have come at the right time before another piece of land could be sold for nothing this time again. I could stop it and at least I could stop others from taking so much advantage of his being so nice. That was dealt with another wealthy man long before grandpa’s death. Everyone’s running after it since they know that they will get a nice land that is just a few steps to one of the island’s white and pristine beaches, and pay a very good price they couldn’t find and get anywhere else. Darned cheap! Now no more — I just hope I can stop this charitable work from now on.

When we still have our little home bakery called “The Perfect Delights”, I was really pampered with a streaming supply of good and tasty pies. We had in our menu blueberry cheese pie, cheese pie, apple pie, apple cheese pie, blueberry pie, mango pie, strawberry and raspberry pies, pineapple pie, banana and lemon pies. I loved apple pies — I was overdosed with it at that time — and I just really missed it! Huh, sigh! Anyways, let me share with you below favorite recipe of mine.
CRUST: 1 cup flour, 1 tbs. sugar, 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper, 1/3 cup ice water, 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 2 tbs. solid vegetable shortening, and 3 tbs. cold unsalted cut up butter.
FILLING: 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 1 tbs. lemon juice, 2 tbs. flour, 1/2 cup sugar, and 2 1/2 lbs. Granny Smith or Pink Lady apples, peeled and thinly-sliced.
PROCEDURE:
1. CRUST: Combine the 1st 5 ingredients, cut in butter and shortening until mix resembles a coarse meal. Stir in cheese, sprinkle on water and stir until dough leaves sides of the bowl. Then shape it into a flat disk; wrap in plastic then chill for an hour.
2. FILLING: Mix all ingredients and spoon into 9-inch glass pie plate.
3. Preheat oven to 450deg. On floured surface, roll dough into a 13-inch round; drape over apples. Crimp edges and make 2 slashes. Bake for 20mins on a baking sheet with sides. Reduce the heat to 350deg and bake 20mins more. This preparation serves 8.

Having no background or direct knowledge in web design and development, managing and improving the look and content of my web sites can be very limited, which depends only on the application and friendly tools that are available for me to use. Web designing is much of a process of conceptualizing, modeling or planning, as well as executing your media content delivery through the Internet. The intent of web design is to create a web site that presents content to the end users.
There are now thousands of web design and development companies that offer these services and one of them is Stylishdesign.com. In fact, Stylishdesign.com is a web design blog that offers services like web designing and many other web design related stuffs. My sister was keen to start writing her own blog and asked if it’s better to design it herself or hire a professional instead. With the expertise of web designers in the field, it will be easy for them to tailor-make the kind and look of her web site. It is now possible for anyone to have his own weblog or business site to serve any of your purposes — personal, governmental, religious, and even commercial.

Every individual has his own talent. Each has his own masterpiece — may it be in music, art, academe, profession, cooking,
anything…
Below image (click to enlarge) was created online using a computer mouse and YM’s Doodle IMvironment features. I was chatting with my nurse sis this morning and she drew this online for me. She said it’s good to reminisce about the time we spent when we were young in the rural place where grandma lives.
I like this drawing — and you know what? I will be posting another piece of hers soon that she just did for me. Since I’m going home for my annual vacation next week and will be visiting her in her workplace, she drew me an online map to her rented apartment/room, which to me looks cool. Watch out for it!

Here are some facts on Honey and Cinnamon:
It is found that a mixture of honey and cinnamon cures most diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world. Scientists of today also accept honey as a ‘Ram Ban’ (very effective) medicine for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without any side effects for any kind of diseases.
Today’s science says that even though honey is sweet, if taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm diabetic patients. Weekly World News, a magazine in Canada, in its issue dated 17 January, 1995 has given the following list of diseases that can be cured by honey and cinnamon as researched by western scientists:
HEART DISEASES:
Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply on bread, instead of jelly and jam, and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol in the arteries and saves the patient from heart attack.
Also those who have already had an attack, if they do this process daily, they are kept miles away from the next attack. Regular use of the above process relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heart beat. In America and Canada, various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have
found that as you age, the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and veins.
ARTHRITIS:
Arthritis patients may take daily, morning, and night, one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. If taken regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week, out of the 200 people so treated, practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain, and within a month, mostly all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis started walking without pain.
BLADDER INFECTIONS:
Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the bladder.
CHOLESTEROL:
Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water, given to a cholesterol patient, was found to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two hours. As mentioned for arthritic patients, if taken three times a day, any chronic cholesterol is cured. According to information received in the said journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves
complaints of cholesterol.
COLDS:
Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for three days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold, and clear the sinuses.
UPSET STOMACH:
Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also clears stomach ulcers from the roots.
GAS:
According to the studies done in India and Japan, it is revealed that if honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.
IMMUNE SYSTEM:
Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacteria and viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles to fight bacteria and viral diseases.
INDIGESTION:
Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals.
INFLUENZA:
A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a natural ‘ Ingredient’ which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from flu.
LONGEVITY:
Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, arrests the ravages of old age. Take four spoons of honey, one spoon of cinnamon powder and three cups of water and boil to make like tea. Drink 1/4 cup, three to four times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests old age.
Life spans also increases and even a 100 year old, starts performing the chores of a 20-year-old.
PIMPLES:
Three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it off next morning with warm water. If done daily for two weeks, it removes pimples from the root.
SKIN INFECTIONS:
Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected parts, cures eczema, ringworm and all types of skin infections.
WEIGHT LOSS:
Daily in the morning one half hour before breakfast on an empty stomach and at night before sleeping, drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one cup of water. If taken regularly, it reduces the weight of even the most obese person. Also, drinking this mixture regularly does not allow the fat to accumulate in the body even though the person may eat a high calorie diet.
CANCER:
Recent research in Japan and Australia has revealed that advanced cancer of the stomach and bones have been cured successfully. Patients suffering from these kinds of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder for one month three time s a day.
FATIGUE:
Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful rather than being detrimental to the strength of the body. Senior citizens, who take honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts, are more alert and flexible. Dr. Milton, who has done research, says that a half tablespoon of honey taken in a glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, taken daily after brushing and in the afternoon at about 3:00 P.M. when the vitality of the body starts to decrease, increases the vitality of the body within a week.
BAD BREATH:
People of South America, first thing in the morning, gargle with one teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot water, so their breath stays fresh throughout t he day.
HEARING LOSS:
Daily morning and night honey and cinnamon powder, taken in equal parts restore hearing. Remember when we were kids? We had toast with real butter and cinnamon sprinkled on it!

Let’s play a game, the spider game! Today, my office assistant broke my silence and overindulgence in the job by introducing this game. Her intention was for me to relax a little bit as she knows that I’ve been digging my head deep down into tons of paperworks and other workloads already towering high on my desk. I’m afraid they’re going to collapse any moment and bury me alive 2 feet under. Such a beautiful choice of irrelevant words here…hehe ;). Pardon me, I’m probably just wobbly and groggy.

The objective of the game is for a line (diagonal or horizantal) to come up with a sum equivalent to that of the other lines’ by using a number between 1 and 12 in each circle—and without repeating any of these numbers. At this time, I haven’t yet started it—wrote a blog about it instead! Hehe…It could be fun and your mathematical abilities could be tested in 15 mins or less. The faster you solve it, the higher your I.Q. is! Guaranteed! Hehe…But my writing skill could beat it in just 5 mins. You’ve got to be a smart spider to be able to play this game! I am, honest ;). Hehe…

Though I am not a big boxing fan—I’ve just been made one during the last 2 years after having seen how this great champion brave-heartedly fought for his countrymen. Their first meeting was very controversial for the judging body to give the title to the Mexican ‘though every audience and boxing professional knows that Pacman did more of the beatings and throwing big-time punches aimed for a knockout (his cup of tea!), and in fact, records show that he knocked down his opponent 3 times in that bout. Yet, their second meeting was the true confirmation of the bravery of the great Filipino fighter. He’s finally put an end to his ever mind-boggling loss in 2004, a sure win everyone saw robbed from the true champion.
It was not the best of Pacquiao, says Roach
By Roy Luarca
Philippine Daily Inquirer, www.inquirer.net, Posted 04:52:00 03/17/2008
LAS VEGAS—It wasn’t the best of Manny Pacquiao whom the people saw on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).
This was the assessment of celebrated trainer Freddie Roach, who watched his prized ward post a razor-thin split decision victory over Juan Manuel Marquez in their battle for the World Boxing Council super featherweight crown at the Mandalay Bay Events Center here.
Roach said Pacquiao did better in training than on fight night.
He noted instances when Pacquiao deviated from their intended course.
“He (Pacquiao) was more disciplined in training than in the fight,” said Roach, who credited Marquez, however,
for standing up to Pacquiao.
“[Marquez] changed styles, threw more punches, moved right and went for the knockout,” said Roach. “He was a lot busier and put up a hell of a fight.”
Though Roach, a two-time Trainer of the Year, admitted that Pacquiao-Marquez II was a close fight, he said they won because “we came back.”
The 48-year-old Roach acknowledged the Mexican’s strong start in the first two rounds where Marquez caught Pacquiao cleanly several times.
“[The hits] happened because he (Pacquiao) followed him in the ring too much,” said Roach, who credited Pacquiao’s superb conditioning and superior power for the victory.
“We trained to get away from the right hand and he’s in one direction and that is in the direction of Marquez’s right hand,” said Roach.

Everyone was glued to his tv set to watch Pacman extinguish his opponent in a 12 rounder bout. It was a big celebration for all and that the hero calls for national unity as he dedicate this and his every fight to all Filipinos around the globe.
Pacman fever grips Filipinos nationwide
By Inquirer Bureaus, Metro Staff, Philippine Daily Inquirer
www.inquirer.net, Posted 02:52:00 03/17/2008
MANILA, Philippines—While most Filipinos were cheering themselves hoarse in their living rooms, in moviehouses, and in public markets and plazas across the country, a 58-year-old woman was on her knees praying in a room in General Santos City in Mindanao.
Rather than watch a live feed of her son’s fight with Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez Sunday, Manny Pacquiao’s mother, Dionisia, closeted herself with three close friends in the prayer room of Pacquiao’s mansion in Lagao village, invoking God’s help.
It was the longest she’d ever prayed for her son, Dionisia said.
“We finished three mysteries of the Holy Rosary,” she said in Filipino. “We prayed for so long my knees felt numb.”
While Pacquiao and Marquez were pummeling each other 12,000 kilometers away in Las Vegas, Nevada, the crime rate across the country was down, many streets were virtually deserted, and even rebel groups watched the fight.
“The world seems better whenever Pacquiao fights,” said Carlito Cerbo, a high school teacher in Iloilo. “Everybody seems to agree on something. Let’s keep him always in the ring.”
Cerbo listened to a live radio broadcast of the fight with his father and neighbors in Dingle town, 50 km from Iloilo City.
In the packed Tacloban City Convention in Leyte, a businessman who asked not be identified was collecting his winning bet. “I won P5,000 today,” he told the Philippine Daily Inquirer (parent company of INQUIRER.net).
In Cotabato City, Eid Kabalu, civil military affairs chief of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), sent the rebel group’s congratulations to Pacquiao.
“Our troops on the ground enjoyed watching his fight,” Kabalu said. “We are happy that at least Filipinos were united even for a few hours. It was very peaceful in the region.”
Life stands still
Life seemed to have stood still in many other places as people gathered in homes, roadside eateries, shopping malls, state-owned gyms or wherever the fight was shown.
In Pampanga province, Allan Dungao, president of the Philippine Cable TV Association, said the PCTA enjoyed a 25-percent increase in the number of pay-per-view clients compared to Pacquiao’ last fight with Erik Morales, also a Mexican.
“Based on the pay-per-view hits, the growing support of cable subscribers for Pacman is unbelievably tremendous,” Dungao said.
“Everywhere, it was the same situation. In Manila, pay-per-view was very expensive. Global Destiny charged P800 and Skycable P1,500 but people still bought it,” he said.
‘Positive news’
Bars and restaurants in Angeles City cashed in on the fight.
Subdelicious, which has an all-American menu, charged P200 per viewer. Free refreshments went with the fee.
International referee Bruce McTavish observed that Pacquiao, in the fight, was “too hesitant, not [in] his usual aggressive style.”
In Nueva Ecija province, Fiorello Abenes, a US-based scientist and a visiting professor at the Central Luzon State University, said Pacquiao’s win “was one big positive news for the country.”
About 20,000 people watched the fight live in two coliseums in Isabela province.
Fever grips Manileños
The “Pacman fever” also gripped Manila residents who filled several venues around the city to watch the live telecast—for free.
At Manila’s San Andres Sports Complex and Civic Center, where a wide screen projector had been set up, jeepney driver Renato Ingalla was heard excitedly telling a friend on the phone: “Pare (Mate), you owe me P1,000.”
Posters and banners (“Pacman for President”) displayed by Pacquiao’s fans elicited laughter.
In Quiapo, Fr. Alvin Fullon, assistant parish priest, said that the fight, which coincided with Palm Sunday, did not affect church attendance.
“The church was jampacked even during the period when the fight was being shown live in some areas in Manila,” he said.
Hero’s welcome
Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim said the city government would organize a motorcade and a hero’s welcome for Pacquiao.
The Manila police said no untoward incidents were reported while the fight was going on, apart from a fire that hit a residential area in Sta. Ana.
Zenaida Paez clutched a white rosary in her right hand as ring announcer Michael Buffer declared, “Let’s get ready to rumble,” before the Las Vegas bout got under way.
The 67-year-old retired teacher almost lost her grip on the rosary after Pacquiao was declared the winner an hour later.
“I’m very happy not only for Pacquiao but for the whole country. God really loves the Filipino people,” said Paez who, with her 12-year-old grandson, was among the 3,000 people who filled four moviehouses in SM City North in Quezon City to watch the telecast.
Welcome respite
Abelardo Formalejo, of Bago Bantay, Quezon City, said Pacquiao’s victory gave the Filipinos a respite from the political bickerings and corruption scandals.
“In the face of all the controversies that we have seen in the past few months, Pacquiao’s victory somehow makes me feel proud to be Filipino again,” Formalejo said.
Joji Ancheta, assistant manager of SM Cinemas, said at least half of the 4,000 guaranteed seats were already sold by Saturday.
Ancheta said the management initially reserved three cinemas for the fight, but had to open another moviehouse to avoid overcrowding and accommodate those with complimentary tickets.
At the Guadalupe wet market in Makati City, it seemed as if the public couldn’t care less about the Pacquiao-Marquez fight as they went about their business, hawking or buying fish and meats.
Blaring radio
Unless one looked—or listened—closely.
Almost everyone was all ears as a radio, at maximum volume, blared out blow-by-blow updates of the match.
A small crowd of vendors and market-goers gathered around a rice selling booth, raptly listening to the radio announcers.
They burst into cheers every time Pacquiao landed a good blow, with one fish vendor shouting: “Go, go, go, Pacquiao, knock him out.”
Vacant seats
Elsewhere, the mood was less than enthusiastic.
At an appliance store overlooking EDSA (Epifanio delos Santos Avenue), all TV monitors were tuned in to a local channel airing Mass instead of the Las Vegas fight.
By regular movie standards, the crowd who watched the fight in the six SM Megamall Cinemas in Mandaluyong City was huge. But compared to Pacquiao’s past battles, the turnout was smaller, a cinema worker said.
Ping Ama, a checker from Solar Sports, the company that held the rights to the fight, said there were more vacancies in the seats compared to Pacquiao’s past fights.
“Before, there were still plenty of people coming in at 10 a.m., but now, there were few,” she said in Filipino.
Ama said the price could have been the factor.
Cure for hunger
Tickets for the Pacquiao-Marquez fight cost P450-P550. Tickets for the last Pacquiao-Barrera battle fetched P350-P450, she said.
But there were also more malls that showed Sunday’s fight, she added. In the past, only SM Cinemas showed Pacquiao’s fights.
Deposed President Joseph Estrada, who watched the bout at the San Juan City arena with his son Mayor Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito, said the match helped the poor forget their problems even for a short time.
“It’s a win for the Filipino people. It temporarily eased the hunger of the poor,” Estrada said.
Mother’s wish
Pacquiao’s mother revealed her one wish after learning of her son’s victory: She said she would like Pacquiao to gift her and her family a trip to Boracay Island in Aklan province.
She said: “Boracay would be nice. I haven’t been there.”
Pacquiao’s father, Rosalio, said he would not request for anything from his son.
“I don’t ask anything from Manny. He just gives on his own volition,” he told the Inquirer newspaper.
The two parents live separately.
Dionisia laughed when asked if Rosalio would go with them to Boracay, saying: “We can’t decide for him. May magagalit na iba (Someone else would get angry).”
Unlike his estranged wife, Rosalio watched the fight.
“I almost collapsed when Manny became a bit groggy in the second round after a heavy punch from Marquez hit him. You see, I am suffering from high blood pressure,” Rosalio said.
Generous son
Asked if he looked forward to joining the family trip to Boracay, he said the place was too far and would cost money. “I’ll just stay home,” he added.
The Filipino ring idol has given Rosalio a three-bedroom house in San Isidro village in General Santos City.
“My house cost Manny more than one million pesos,” he said. “He had a house built not only for his parents but for his siblings also.”
The city government of General Santos has promised to give a grand hero’s welcome for Pacquiao. How would you feel if you lost your car’s license plate? Not just one but two—front &
back? What do you think would be your immediate reaction? I was like—definitely not in heaven—but somewhere in the middle of heaven & earth. No, I hit rock bottom! Of course, you’d be shocked, very shocked, & ultra-shocked! I felt like I was in the North Pole standing under the sun for 15 mins—1:00 PM, 35 degrees celcius, & starving—when I found that out.
Mine, honestly, was & is not the best among the cars that were parked right in front of my building, right before my very eyes, but not the worst either. It’s not anymore brand new-looking, but not old either. It was parked alongside a very busy street—with busy people passing by day & night—& very well-lighted. It was parked right beside the busy public phone booths right next to the 24-hour convenience store, “7-11″. The place also has both the motorcycle taxi & car taxi mini-stations that operate 24/7. Just imagine how busy the place really is, yet, the thief still managed to maneuver my front & back license plates & fled away with them. Professional thief indeed!
Now, the thief needs the plates for sale or use with stolen cars. At least they only took the plates & still left me with my car! Praise God! They’re
not that bad, are they? They still are! What could’ve happened to me if I lost the whole thing? What to do when you lost your car’s license plates? Immediately report to the police, of course, hoping they will do something. I was starving & already shaking when I went to file for a police report only to get disappointed that they couldn’t understand me—I couldn’t understand them either.
When a gracious lad came by to help interpret, it was more frustrating to learn that they do not entertain such cases & was only told to go to another police station where finding it is another total exploration. Don’t forget, it was darned hot & I was already starving! I had only one choice—to give up! I just couldn’t really imagine what hassles this theft brings. Anyways, thanks heavens that I still got my car & that’s the bottomline!

The following was an email forward from a friend. It’s about a conversation between God and Me! No, not me, but Me. It’s really very interesting and fully-loaded with good thoughts and wise teachings. Enjoy the message…learn from it! There’s so much wisdom in it.
ME : Why are we constantly unhappy?
GOD : Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. You are worrying because you are analyzing. Worrying has become your habit. That’s why you are not happy.
ME : But how can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty?
GOD : Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is optional.
ME : But then, there is so much pain due to uncertainty…
GOD : Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.
ME : If suffering is optional, why do good people always suffer?
GOD : Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don’t suffer. With that experience their life becomes better, not bitter.
ME : You mean to say such experience is useful?
GOD : Yes. In every term, Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.
ME : But still, why should we go through such tests? Why can’t we be free from problems?
GOD : Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons to Enhance Mental Strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when you are free from problems.
ME : Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don’t know where we are heading…
GOD : If you look outside you will not know where you are heading. Look inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.
ME : Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in the right direction. What should I do?
GOD : Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you. Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you rode ahead. You work with the compass. Let others work with the clock.
ME : In tough times, how do you stay motivated?
GOD : Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.
ME : What surprises you about people?
GOD : When they suffer they ask, “why me?” When they prosper, they never ask “Why me?” Everyone wishes to have truth on their side, but few want to be on the side of the truth.
ME : Sometimes I ask, “Who am I, why am I here?” I can’t get the answer.
GOD : Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to be. Stop looking for a purpose as to why you are here. Create it. Life is not a process of discovery, but a process of creation.
ME : How can I get the best out of life?
GOD: Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.

Very sadly speaking, working overtime to earn more income for wealth accumulation and make ends meet can increase your fatigue level and can decrease your quality time spent with your family thereby making happiness and a balance between work and family difficult to maintain. Yet, many people do that! I’m no exception—yet what I do is not only about making more money but fulfilling my love of the work I’m doing. At least for now, I still find it really fun working long hours on the internet almost 24/7. I don’t want to claim it, I can’t also boast about it, but I know and realize that since 1999, I have become a true internet addict. Yes, I manage my websites for fun and money, too ;).
You don’t have to read hundreds of accounting, finance, financial management, and investment books, or to be a financial guru to be able to do financial planning. You just have to follow the basic rule—the 90% rule—and following this 90% rule will almost certainly guarantee your financial success. This rule suggests that you live on 90% of your income and save the remaining 10%. Rather than working overtime or double time to support your lifestyle, you can instead make a few small changes in your habits and ways of thinking in order to reduce your monthly expenses, and sure will make your savings plan to succeed.

Bloggers have been creating a big fuzz about the way Google ranks blogs and other sites. Google’s algorithm (in PageRank) is just too sophisticated that no one really knows how and why their sites’ PR of 5 or 6 went down to as low as 0. Reading bloggers messages in the forum and discussion boards, everyone is just so frustrated. I can very well understand their sentiments that after doing all the hard work—that is what they got. PPP also has its own ranking system (the RealRank) and I heard that a new one called SocialSpark will soon be launched in the hopes of providing more comfort and help for the affected PPP bloggers. They claimed that these will give actual ranks to blogs according to traffic and others.
I’ve got nothing against about site rankings—at least for now—as my sites are too new. Currently, I’ve got PR0 and a weekly RealRank average of 3,589 (RealRank of 3,061 as of today) for my ideasbeyondborders.com site. But checking its future PageRank via iWebtool.com, they’ve predicted a PR5 for this site in Google’s next round of updates, which is I guess this month of March. Now, I have a mixed feelings—nervous, worried, and excited. Nervous that I don’t know what I’d really get, Worried that I might end up a PR0 still, and excited to see my predicted PR5 actually showing. Well, it all depends on how important Google sees my site.
I have a great idea! To console myself and make me feel relieved, I’ve designed my own algorithm in ranking sites. It’s pretty simple, fair, and straight-forward. JJSiteRank ranks any web site according to traffic and their popularity—no any hidden agenda. Well, I tried it with my own sites and it works pretty well…hehe. At least it can make me smile and giggle uncontrollably. It’s not yet launched into the open, it’s a personal ranking system only, but if you want to have your site ranked real-time with nice results, just let me know.
With this new invention, at least I don’t need to worry how much I would get from Google for my PageRank, from PPP for my RealRank and SocialSpark, etc. I can completely deceive myself by using JJSiteRank to rank my own web sites instead. Hehe. Poor me!
However, I just wonder if getting a JJSiteRank of 5 or 8 will entitle me to some nice $$$ figures in campaigns and ad opportunities. Maybe you will need to vote for me to earn that!

Earlier on, I wrote about saving fuel costs by checking car tires regularly and keeping the right amount of air pressure on my other site, ideas beyond borders. ‘Though before I wrote that post, I knew that I’m not going to save some money because I still hang on to my existing, over-exhausted tires, but I insist and advise others to make it a habit.
Prolonged use of your car’s tires is a complete danger (blowing up your tires while driving or skidding into somewhere unimaginable during wet days)—whether or not it’s a rainy or sunny day. Change and check your tires regularly (including the spare tire), I wrote, yet due to busy-ness, I most of the times forget to do it myself. Changing of tires regularly means replacement of a new set of 4 every 3 years, at the most. And I just did mine yesterday! Congratulations! I deserve this break, don’t I?
It feels really good and comforting to know that you’re driving a car with brand new tires. I don’t panic nor feel scared anymore. Now, I think I can resume my crazy-driving techniques…hehe. Oh, no, not anymore! After having spent a hefty sum of money for repairs of my power-steering wheel, the entire chamber replacement, electrical wirings’ rewiring, and the tire replacement schemes, I don’t think I can maintain the appetite of car racing on expressways. No more!
So, life is expected to be quiet and at peace after all these accomplishments. But not until yesterday’s shocking finding of a new unbelievably heart-breaking happening. I’ll talk about this new sad thing in my next blog somewhere very soon. Just check it out!

What really caused a credit crisis? Many would speculate and blame it all on the rising prices of commodities, especially the unstoppable ever-rising gold and fuel prices, and many others. Home prices actually need to fall back to affordable levels in order for an average person to avail of home acquisition opportunities. That is because, if an average person still needs home financing with teaser rates to be able to acquire or afford a house, then of course, home prices are still understandably way too high.
Credit crisis is basically the result of a nationwide decline in home prices and not the prices of collateralised debt obligations (CDOs) nor the derivative securities. And in order for the said crisis to stop, decline in home prices should end. The further the home prices decline, the more unpleasant the problem becomes as it entails increased delinquencies, more CDO losses, foreclosures, and further stress in the banking system.
J. Bianco of Asia Asset Management illustrated that whole scenario with reference to a classic case of an indebted man to that of boiling a frog—start off with cold water, slowly turn up the heat, and the frog will not realise that he is in trouble until it is too late.
From this I believe I will need to re-assess my financial position once more to determine whether or not I am situated in the plus or minus side of the pole. It’s a thriller!

If you want to make it a comfortable place that will make your home, business or office more relaxing and accommodating, then furnitures and fixtures should match your style. Color schemes should match with the other accessories in your living or reception area and that of your personality if it is a home. Decorating ideas can be anything that you want and there are lots of exciting ways to decorate your space. Contemporary furnitures and fixtures are made to be fun and innovating to your style needs. You can also get modern day items to brighten up your space and to make it look every elegant. Not to be confused with interior decoration, interior design draws on aspects of environmental psychology, architecture, and product design in addition to traditional
decoration. Interior designing is a creative practice. When it comes to residential interior design, the important point to consider is the way that you want a person to feel. Look how cozy and elegantly this receiving area looks like. You don’t only have to make it functional but also comfortable. There’s a lot of pressure, but when you go into office design your only concern is to make people feel comfortable and use professional colors so that the owner can have successful meetings. Interior architecture bridges the practices of interior design and architecture with an emphasis on interior spaces and that the field is similar to architecture as it deals with structures and load bearing walls. It is similar to interior design in that it focuses on interior spaces where architectural principles in the design of structural interiors for living, recreational, and business purposes are incorporated.
In the U.S., what is considered as an interior design is called an interior architecture but a practicing professional cannot use the title of “Interior Architect” unless they complete the requirements for becoming a licensed architect since the field of interior architecture shares a lot with interior design and decorating. It is mainly about designing comfortable, safe, and useful indoor spaces. But the interior architecture typically focuses on architecture and construction where artistic concerns, such as choosing which style of furnishings works well in an open, loftlike apartment, must be taken into consideration.

How can one become aware of the complications indirectly associated with credit and collections such as shipment or delivery errors, unacceptable product performance, quality control problems, etc., that can cause a client to withhold timely payments? Firstly, you will need to identify the real issue and that all potential payment problems should be routed to the Credit and Collections department at once. Every company needs to develop the Credit and Collections department as a nerve center yet it doesn’t have to be an elaborate undertaking. Let me share with you an example of a simple action plan below.
You can assign each client to an account service specialist where a simple variation of the 80/20 rule can be followed–80% of the money are typically generated by 20% of the customers and these customers should be assigned to the highly experienced Credit and Collections staff–the remaining 20% of the money attributable to the other 80% of the customers should be assigned to the less seasoned staff.
All complaints should be routed to the appropriate account service specialist–it is only important to do so in order for him or her to be aware of any potential payment problem. The specialist will them assess the importance of each complaint and projects any related payment lag. This in turn can be acted upon right at once by informing the customer, under the circumstances, that he or they are expected to meet the payment terms outlined on the current billing statement.
All complaints should be rerouted to the appropriate department–the specialist will then need to assign the complaint to a secondary department (i.e. delivery problems are forwarded to the shipping department) and logs an anticipated problem-resolution date. The specialist will then need to follow up to ensure that the problem is indeed resolved and that collection efforts can resume on schedule.
I hope that these tips are helpful to you.

Would you like to be the “No. 1″? When you’re a super-rich guy, a multi-millionaire, how would you like to spend your US$14 million?
I was stunned and bowled over what caught my eyes this morning written in one of the daily newspapers. It talked about a super-rich man in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) who spent millions of dollars just to be number one. The paper said, “Without batting an eyelid, a businessman dished out a record US$14 million (THB458 million) for a car licence plate at a charity auction in the UAE on Saturday.” The businessman, Mr. Saeed Abdel Ghaffar Khouri, was quoted as saying, “It’s not huge compared to my family’s fortune” after bidding 52.2 million dirhams for an Abu Dhabi licence plate bearing the single number “1“. Learning from this, I then felt the itch and really wanted to sell to him my 3 special mobile phone numbers, too, if he needs them for a hefty sum of $$$$$…hehe. I wish he would contact me for the VIP numbers…the question is, would he need them?
He said to the organizers and the media that the price was fair. “After all, who among us does not want to be No. 1,” Khouri said. Emirates Auction, which organised the sale, said on its website that it had been expected to set a new world record for the most expensive care licence plate in the world and only last May, another citizen of the oil-rich UAE spent more than US$5 million to buy a licence plate bearing the number “5“. Funds from the auction at an Abu Dhabi luxury hotel were said to be given to charities. Buyers battled it out on Saturday for low-digit licence plates, spending a total of 89 million dirhams according to the Emirates Auction.
Hmmm, what else to say? Really super-rich people just don’t care so much about overspending on some things that may not really be that fancy…at least to others, to us. The treasure could already save millions of lives in the less fortunate parts of the world. Okay, I’m jealous, I’m jealous, I know that! Hehe. So, do you want to be No. 1? A millionaire? I want to be both at least in my wildest dreams.

Driving is just like swimming. When you’ve learned the basics as well as the “dos and don’ts”, then, it surely becomes an instinct. Having learned and being so keen of the ways and all of the driving techniques, like swimming, you’ll have the skill forever and no one can ever take it away from you…you’ll never ever forget it no matter how less frequent you drive or swim. It’s true. Once I drove a manual-geared car in 1998 — 10 yrs later, I still can. I think it’s amazing since I’ve never driven a car with a manual shift stick for so long. Yet, it’s certain that our confidence will somehow be affected if we do not often drive or swim.
Traveling in any kind of vehicle to places (distant or near) must require us to have a spare tire ready in case of emergencies. With it, you’ll feel forearmed, reinforced and secure. But it has to be in a really good condition to serve as a working backup or reinforcement at any
time in any given situation, not just a useless extra load or an additional liability in the car. This actually reminds of my own. I haven’t checked my spare tire in 3 yrs. Gosh, what a shame!
Similarly, The Global Interface was launched to work hand in hand or serve as a good backup to both Ideas Beyond Borders and Global Interface sites. Should there be issues or topics not covered in the former will be compensated by the latter two, or vice versa. Although I could not assure you all that your topics of interest could well be covered by these sites but I’ll try to make them as informative as possible for the interest of the many. And yet, there’ll be hundreds of thousands of things as well that I will surely miss but I’ll try my level best to make everyone happy and have a fun visit in all my 3 sites.
So, here’s a warm welcome to everyone and hope that you’ll have a great time here at theglobalinterface.com. Share what you can share to me, too. Thank you!
